Blue silk ribbon with a molded metal bar across the top and a metal medallion in the center. The ribbon is printed in gold with the inscription, "DELEGATE 7TH ANNUAL CONVENTION AT Sioux falls, S. D. JAN. 23 - 28, 1899". The central medallion is printed with an image of a building and the inscription, "NATIONAL CREAMERY BUTTER MAKERS ASS'N." There is a blue, shield-shaped sticker on the back that reads, "FRANK TUTTLE MANF'G OF SOCIETY GOODS BNNER FLAGS AND BADGES ELGIN. ILL."Context
Produced for the National Convention of the National Creamery Butter Makers Association in 1899.
The American Butter Institute (ABI) is an Arlington, VA-based trade association for manufacturers, processors, marketers, and distributors of butter and butter products. Originally established as the National Association of Creamery Butter Manufacturers in 1908. There are currently 27 active member companies that market approximately 90% of all the butter manufactured in the U.S.

The last owner of this ribbon was Parker Perry (1903-1988) of Morrisville and Stowe, Vermont. Perry
came to Vermont in the 1940s and was the gas-ration agent during the war for Mobil Oil, then called Socony Oil Co. He then purchased the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe and operated it for over 40 years. He was active in Farm Bureau affairs and was an early promoter of Vermont dairy products.
