Wendell G. Lane is listed in the Barre City Directories during the 1940s and 1950s with this telephone number. His contracting business was then located at 57 Spaulding Street. Earlier in his life he worked as a draftsman for his father, Adolph B. Lane. As a draftsman he probably had the skill to paint this wooden sign for his own business.
