Description

The dark blue forage cap features a tall crown with a stiff, round top and unstiffened sides that allow the top to droop forward. The top of the cap is decorated with applied braid trim in a quatrefoil pattern. The cap also has a squared black leather brim, which is currently detached. On either side of the cap, there is a brass button, and a gold strap runs between them in front of the hat. The seams of the sides of the crown are covered with black braid trim. The interior of the cap is lined with black silk, although it is currently in a shattered condition, and it is interlined with undyed wool felt, providing added warmth and structure to the cap.
