Description

Decorative plate with a painted scene of a house and trees in the center. The scene is labeled, "Birthplace of Admiral Dewey, Montpelier, Vt." The edge is gilded in a mottled, sponged design. There are two molded openings on either side of the plate, like handles. The reverse is marked, "B. F. H. S./CHINA/MADE IN AUSTRIA/for Miss. S. S. Slade/Montpelier Vt."
