Description

Two plaster medallions. One shows a bust of a man on one side and a long inscription within a laurel wreath on the other side. The face side shows a bearded man who is bald on the top of his head. He is wearing a suit jacket, high-collard shirt, and bow tie. The inscription, "GEORGE FRANKLIN EDMUNDS" rings the top edge and the dates 1828 and 1919 flank the man. The other has the inscription, "AWARDED BY THE VERMONT HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG VERMONTERS TO STUDY THE HISTORY AND PROBLEMS OF THEIR STATE AND TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF GEORGE FRANKLIN EDMUNDS" in the center of a laurel wreath. There is a blank rectangle at the center bottom.
