Red clay brick broken into two pieces down the long side. The brick is held in a decorative box lined on the exterior with burgundy velvet and on the interior with blue satin.

Context

Taken from the Graff House in Philadelphia where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence. It was likely acquired when the house was torn down in 1884.
