Description

Rectangular white cotton poster painted with the inscription, "HARRISON & TYLER. LITTLE BOYS BUT BIG WHIGS." There are three stamps along the left edge of the fabric, bleeding through from the reverse. One shows a man within an elaborate wreath surrounded by the inscription, "CHAMPION OF THE AMERICAN SYSTEM". One is in the shape of a medal of honor. One is a six-pointed star over a hexagon.

Context

Produced for the 1840 presidential campaign of William Henry Harrison and running mate John Tyler.
