Description

Gavel and block (wooden) in original box used by House Speaker Mallary (donor) while presiding over the Vermont House of Representatives during the 1966 Reapportioned Session, the 1967 Regular Session and until the 15th of February of the 1968 Adjourned Session. a=gavel Shaped head and handle. Head has four ridges on it, two on either side of the handle. b=block Round with shaped sides. Cork sheet applied to the bottom. c=leatherette covered box (maroon) lined with maroon velvet and white 'satin.' Gold colored line decorates the top edge of the bottom. A straight gold 'handle' is in the center of the top front. The hinge on the lid has a 'catch' so it stays open when opened all the way and closes only when pressure is applied.
