Black matchbook. The front of the matchbook is inscribed, “The / Venetian / BARRE, VT.” in silver with dark green shading. A silver printed moon sits between the text, and green choppy waves adorn the bottom with a red and white canal pole leaning diagonally to the left. The front flap tucks into the match’s striker, which has a silver colored band and staple above the crease. The back of the exterior shows an empty restaurant and bar, with a solid green band that has white print saying, “PHONE 933W.” The interior does not have any matches and has no added color, except for green lettering saying, “Reserve Our DEN.”Context
