Large lead medal molded on one side with the inscription, "AWARDED BY THE VERMONT HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG BERMONTERS TO STUDY THE HISTORY AND PROBLEMS OF THEIR STATE AND TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF GEORGE FRANKLIN EDMUNDS". The inscription is surrounded by a laurel wreath, and there is a blank rectangle at the center bottom. The reverse is blank.
