Description

Presentation sword and scabbard. The sword's grip is leather wrapped in wire. The guard and pommel are decoratively engraved with leaves. There is a gold tassel attached to the guard. The scabbard in engraved with the inscription, "Lieut. C.F. Branch/By members of Co. H 9th Vmt. Vol/At Chapins Farm, Va./March 14, 1865".
