Context

Limited VT connections: In 1940 Harry Loyzell, of Fryeburg, Maine, traveled to North Conway, New Hampshire, where Babe Ruth was playing golf. Loyzell's uncle had previously acquired this ball from Fenway Park during a Red Sox game, and Loyzell asked Ruth to sign in. Loyzell went on to become the athletic director at Rutland High School.
