Description

Small beaded drawstring bag. The body of the bag is loom beaded in an intricate scene that wraps around the entire bag without repeat. One side shows a woman holding a lamb with a sheep on a leash. She is in front of a large pink monument, and 2 doves are flying above the monument with a wreath. There is a tree and a berry bush behind the woman. That vignette is in front of a body of water. A village and mountains are visible on the far shore. The other side shows a pink temple beside a large tree and a rose push. There is a man seated at a table below the temple. The base of the bag is beaded with a red ground, small white flowers, and a green vine. The top ruffle and drawstring are black silk. There is a label that reads, "Made by Betsy Cadwell of Montpelier, and given to a friend, Mrs. Mary Dodge Storrs, Montpelier".
