Description

Carved wooden mortar and pestle for corn. The mortar (a) is a carved section of tree trunk with a "bowl" carved into one end and a carved indentation beneath the bowl to aid in holding the mortar. The pestle (b) is carved of a separate piece of wood with a wider diameter end for pounding corn and a narrower worn handle.
