Description

Hand puppet made from a sock. The head is made from the foot of the sock, with cardboard reinforcing the shape of the mouth. It has white buttons for eyes, frayed yarn and a bell for a nose, and braded green and white yarn for hair. There is red felt on the inside of the mouth. A tag stapled to the end reads, "1609 350th CHAMPLAIN 1959 / ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL" "CRAFT-MART".

Context

Depicts Champ, the monster of Lake Champlain. Produced to commemorate the 350th anniversary of Lake Champlain.
