Private bank note for 50 cents issued by the Vermont State Bank. It has a swag border with the words, "HALF.D." in every other swag. The face is printed with the inscription, "A FIFTY CENTS No. / The President & Directors of the VERMONT STATE BANK promise to pay [L. L. Goch] or Bearer FIFTY CENTS at their OFFICE OF DISCOUNTY & DEPOSIT at BURLINGTON on demand BURLINGTON [July 4th 1808 / [Saml Huchons] Cashr Fifty C. [I. Hutchinson] Prest."
