Bicorn hat with a tall center peak. The front of the hat is decorated with two chevrons of black figured silk ribbon. There is a brass eagle pin at the center of the upper chevron. The back has a large X stitched at the center with black ribbon. The side points are decorated with large, gold tassels. The interior is lined with white satin-woven silk and stamped with the mark, "C. ST. JOHN 118 BROAD WAY NEW YORK."Context
