Description

Tooled leather trifold wallet. The wallet secures closed with a leather strap that encircles the entire wallet and inserts through a short strap on the front. The wallet opens to show three pockets (one per fold) with a paper notepad inserted into the center pocket.

Context

Owned by Dr. William A. Grover. Grover studied at Vermont Medical College in Woodstock, Vermont, in 1842, then travelled to California to practice in 1849.
