Pieced quilt in the Kings of St. Andrews Cross pattern. The fabrics used are all printed cottons, or calicos, with various floral, geometric, and plaid patterns. Each block consists of a pointed cross around a center white square. Between each block is banding of white cotton printed in a pink geometric pattern. The center of each block is signed with a name; most of the names are of women from Calais, VT, and E. Montpelier, VT, but some are from Richmond, VT, and Swansea, NH. The names all appear to have been written in the same hand. There are shaped cutouts at the bottom to corners for bed posts.Context
