Spherical, tightly padded lacemaking pillow. The pillow is covered with strips of printed cotton sewn together. The cotton has a faded floral pattern printed on brown cotton ground. There are two pockets sewn to opposite sides of the pillow, one of blue and white floral printed cotton and the other of blue and white striped ticking. A strip of perforated paper is attached at the top of the pillow perpendicular to the sewn cotton strips, and at the top edge of the paper several pins have been inserted with threads woven between them to create a small length of lace. The lace bobbins attached to the threads are tucked into the printed cotton pouch at the side.Context
