Partially used rectangular stick of sealing wax. One end is broken into a flat edge. The other is charred and melted into a tapered edge.
Use
Melted onto the edge of a folded letter or envelope and stamped with a decorative seal to seal the paper closed, verify it had not been opened, and indicate the sender.
