Cardboard box containing silk embroidery thread. The lid of the box has a paper label with an image of a factory in the center and the words, "SUPERIOR SIX CORD MACHINE THREAD. / SOFT FINISH. WARRANTED 200 YDS. / WILLIMANTIC LINEN COMPANY." The threads inside are tied in loops. Each is 2 ply. The colors include black, green, blue, yellow, and shades of pink.

Context

The thread has a family history of being made by Mary Hunt Tyler of Brattleboro, Vermont. However, they are commercially produced and post-date 1850.
