Description

Commemorative medal consisting of a bar, a ribbon, and a round medallion. The bar is silver plated and molded with the word, "WELCOME". The grosgrain ribbon is striped yellow (center) and blue (edges). The medallion hangs from an eye ring looped through the bottom of the ribbon and shows a bust portrait of Admiral Dewey and the inscription, "ADMIRAL GEO. WL. DEWEY". The back of the medallion shows a masted war ship with two steam chimneys and the label, "DEWEY'S FLAG-SHIP OLYMPIA. 5,800 TONS".
