The arms of the cross are enameled white lined with blue and there is a red circle in the center with a gold spread eagle surrounded by the inscription, "LEX RECIT ARMA TUENTUR". The back of the medal has a fasces in place of the eagle, and the inscription, "M.O. LOYAL LEGION U.S. MDCCCLXV".Context
