Round, white metal button printed with a United States flag with 13 stars and the number 76 in the blue field. The inscription, 'SESQUI-CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION / BATTLE OF BENNINGTON AUGUST 16, 1927 / OLDEST STARS AND STRIPES FLAG USED AT BATTLE OF BENNINGTON 1777" surround the flag. A green satin-woven silk ribbon hangs from the button. There is a piece of cardboard inserted into the back of the button beneath the pin with the makers mark.Context
