The lid of the box is printed with an illustrated scene showing a woman in a red dress holding a large knife and running down the street away from a house. There is a man standing in the road behind her, and 3 large mice at her feet. It is printed with the inscription, "Three Blind Mice see how They run /They all ran after the Farmers Wife She cut off their tails with a Carving Knife".
