Wooden shipping crate. The crate is papered on all sides with decorative floral paper. One side has the label, "MANDARIN L/W FINEST HYSON NO 12 SEUQUA". The top has a small shipping label nailed to the center that reads, "FROM A. S. HYDE. DEALER IN W. I. GOODS AND CHOICE FAMILY GROCERIES, TEAS. COFFEE. SPICES. Kerosene Oil and Burning Fluid. NO. 2 DARROW BLOCK, ST. ALBANS, VT." It is hand addressed to "A. Hyde Grinnell East Georgia, Vt."

Shipped from A. S. Hyde of St. Albans, Vermont, to A. Hyde Grinnell of East Georgia, Vermont. After it’s original use, Sarah Ann Hyde used the box to store her diaries, which are house in the Vermont Historical Society archives.
