Description

Large commemorative medal. One side of the medal shows a large eagle, a cannon, and two coats of arms with the inscription, "WASHINGTON AMHERST BURGOYNE ALLEN SCHUYLER BROWN PUTNAM KNOX ROGERS CHAMPLAIN MONTCALM" around the edge. The other side shows a man in 18th-century clothing holding a map beside a row of cannons with the inscription "FORT TICONDEROGA BICENTENNIAL 1755-1955" at the top and "MICHEL MARQUIS de CHARTIER de LOTBINIERE" at the bottom.

Context

Produced for the 200th anniversary of the building of Fort Ticonderoga. 100 of these were produced and distributed to people who worked on the celebration.
