White linen tablecloth made from 2 panels of fabric seamed down the center. It is hemmed on all 4 sides. It is woven in a spot weave. It is marked in ink with "Sophia H. Nye / No. [illeg] / H. S. Town".

Context

Made by Sophia Nye Town in Berlin, Vermont. From notes by an unknown evaluator of various fabric items in the VHS collection: "Tablecloth, Bronson weave construction, cross and table pattern. nicely woven, Cotton warp and linen weft. Big men in one quadrant. The 19th century term is diaper weave. Bronson is a 20th century term."
