Description

Round, gold medal hanging from a red-white-and-blue striped ribbon. The top of the ribbon is attached to a spring-backed pin. The ribbon is printed in gold with the inscription, "BENNINGTON D. A. R. DEDICATION OF BRECKENRIDGE MARKER AUGUST 15, 1927". The front of the medal is molded with an image of a Revolutionary War soldier slouching and holding a long gun in one arm. To his right is the inscription, "VERMONT SESQUICENTENNIAL / IRA ALLEN / HE LED THE FOUNDERS OF THE STATE / 1927". The back of the medal is marked, "THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J." The medal is held onto the ribbon with a metal crimp.
