Description

Sheer blue-and-white printed cotton dress. The fabric is very finely woven and printed with blue floral vines forming vertical stripes. The long sleeves are constructed in two parts with a large tuck above the elbow. The bodice opens in the center front and secures with black buttons. The skirt attaches to the bodice with small cartridge pleats. There is a large tuck along the bottom of the skirt, and the hem is faced in cotton.

Context

Worn by a member of the Safford or Jackson family of Jericho, Vermont. Recommended for deaccession due to poor condition including significant staining.
