Description

White linen tablecloth woven in a 5-harness spot weave with a repeating diamond pattern. It is hemmed on all 4 sides with a 1-inch hem. One corner is both inked and stamped with the initials "ACG".

Context

Made by Hannah Patience Bliss of Calais, Vermont From notes by an unknown evaluator of various fabric items in the VHS collection: Tablecloth, linen warp singles. Bronson Weaver in sort of an overshot patterns (extended diamonds) Six to eight harness weave, center seam construction. 50 t/I, Circa 1805. very early, beautifully woven. ACG RCO later owners.
