This quilt was made by Miss Jane Andrews of Northfield, aunt of Miss Carrie Willey of Montpelier. Miss Willey says her aunt started the quilt when she (Miss Willey) was a schoolgirl and she remembers pieces of her grandmother's dresses that are in the quilt, pieces of her great-aunt's dresses and even pieces of her own small aprons.
The Log Cabin Pattern is one of the earliest patterns and there are a great many variations of the same theme.
