Paper bag from Frost & Sigsbee of Brattleboro, Vermont. The bag is made of beige paper with printed black lettering and a graphic which shows objects found in a 19th- or early 20th-century drygoods store including a barrel, bags of rice, soap, coffee, and bottles. The top edge of the bag is scalloped.
The front of the bag is printed and stamped, "FULL SIZE / 5 / and weight" at the top edge. The front center of the bag is printed, "FROST & SIGSBEE, / NO. 8 CROSBY BLOCK, BRATTLEBORO, VT. / Wholesale and Retail / GROCERS. / Foreign and Domestic / Fruits, Nuts, Canned Goods, &c. / FLOUR, PRODUCE / Wooden Ware, Grass Seed, Fertilizers, &c. / FINE GOODS A SPECIALTY" in a variety of fonts around the image on the front. The back of the bag is printed with a guarantee of Frost & Sigsbee's coffee quality.Acquisition
