Description

Cheese tester. The tool consists of a round wooden box with a large iron gear and crank handle on the top. When turned, the gear moves a wooden blade-like object within the box. The blade is 1-1/2-inch thick with attachments on each end. Each attachment has a hole to allow the butterfat to pass through. There is a hook and eye on the outside of the box securing the lid, and a hinge opposite.

Use

Used to test cheese during the aging process without cutting open the wheel.
