Description

One-piece body of rosewood. Ferrules of nickel silver with two engraved lines at each end and one line at center. Slide-on mouthpiece of pewter. One emboucher hole and six fingerfoles. Plugged seventh fingerhole above top open fingerhole. Mouthpiece of cast pewter (missing set screw).

Use

The mouthpiece would have allowed a novice musician to sound the instrument without learning the proper fife/flute emboucher.
