Description

Metal pin in the shape of a waving flag. The pin has a paper sticker on the front that is printed to look like the United States flag. A hinge on the flagpole allows the flag to fold open to reveal the inscription, "To Hell with Spain, Remember the Maine".

Context

Owned by Edward Prouty of Underhill, Vermont. At the time of his death, Prouty was the last living officer of the Spanish-American War in Vermont.
