Description

Souvenir tomahawk or hatchet made of a tree branch, partially scraped of its bark and decorated with blue, yellow, green and red paint and a small leather strap. The wooden blade is secured through a vertical hole in the handle and tied in place with a leather string. The edges of the blade are painted red. On one side there is a painted silhouette of person's head wearing a feather warbonnet and the inscription, "NBONSAWIMO ODANAK." On the other side are the words "Lake Dunmore, VT." and the date, "Aug. 24, 1956."
