Description

Two-piece membership badge. The top piece is a bar pin with a shield at the center. The bar is molded with the word "BOSTON" split on either side of the shield. The shield has stars at the top and stripes at the bottom and is molded with the Faneuil Hall building. The bottom piece is shield shaped and hangs from the top piece by an eye ring. It is molded with a GAR membership ribbon (an eagle, a flag ribbon, and a star-shaped medallion) and the inscription, "G.A.R / 51st NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT / 1917".
