Description

Black, two-piece silk and lace evening gown consisting of a bodice and skirt. The bodice has no sleeves and secures up the side front with hooks and eyes. The opening is decorated with silk florets and the center front is decorated with black lace. The skirt is made of several layers of black silk and lace and decorated with loose, vertical ribbons.

Context

Worn by Orietta Kingsbury of Ludlow, Vermont, and Brooklyn, New York, who worked as a dramatist.
