Description

Bicorne felt hat belonging to Roswell Miner when serving from Connecticut in the Revolution. White paper note pinned to inside lining removed (with worksheet) reads: "Roswell Miner fought under Washington in 1776" Black hat appears to be all original with black silk rosette at the top left (front) with two pieces of flat braid attaching to a metal button at the bottom edge. On the left front there is a 1" piece of black ribbon coming out from inside the hat. Interior lining appears to be original with black gauze on the crown. On the back there are two holes (original to piece) where at one point braid strung between them. There is a mark on the hat where the braid was up against it for a long period.
