Round white button with the blue inscription, "JOHN S. BURGESS U. S. CONGRESS", and a blue line crossing the center.

Context

Made for the 1974 campaign of Republican John S Burgess in his bid to represent Vermont in Congress. He lost to Republican Jim Jeffords in the primary and Jeffords went on to win the election. Burgess previously ran for attorney general in 1962 and lost in the Republican primary. He was elected Lieutenant Governor in 1970 and re-elected in 1972.
