Reads: top two lines are a cross stitch upper case alphabet; next two lines are lower case alphabet and numerals 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 all in cross stitch. Next three lines are cursive, upper case alphabet in cross stitch. Then "Mary P.S. Jarvis. / Aged 10, A.D. 1820. Vt." Finally: A virtuous conduct leaves behind, A lasting pleasure in the mind, / Which by remembrance can assuage. / Grief Sickness Poverty and age/ And strongly shoot a radiant dart / To shine through life's (? ) part., Let us suppose the virtuous mind a rose, Which nature plants and education blows"
