Description

Silver Montpelier High School Ring- Class of 1938 with a black rectangle topped with a tiny circular seal.

Context

Olive Romerio Franzi (1920-2018) was a lifetime resident of Montpelier and a 1938 graduate of Montpelier High School. She was the daughter of Carlo and Elisa (Fornarelli) Romerio. She began working at Jackson's Pharmacy while still in high school and after graduation she worked for the Montpelier public schools before joining Green Mountain Power in 1941, staying 45 years and retiring as administrative assistant to the president in 1986. She married Gino C. Franzi of Barre in 1949. He died in 1961. They had no children. She was active in many organizations, including as a volunteer with the Vermont Historical Society and in 2008 Gov. Jim Douglas gave her the Governor's Outstanding Community Service Award.
