Description

Family tree autograph quilt signed with names of members of the Sparrow family of Calais, Vermont. The quilt is pieced of squares with cross designs set diagonally. The blocks are largely grouped into sets of four, with single blocks filling in around the edges. Each block contains three fabrics: a dark/prominent print (forming the cross), a light/subtle print filling the triangles at the edges, and a plain white center square. The center square of each block has the name of a person, sometimes the person's life dates, and the person's relationship to either the maker or recipient of the quilt (i.e. grandmother).
