Description

Private bank note for 1 dollar from Farmers Bank. The short edges are printed with rectangular borders. The left border shows a landscape with the word, "VERMONT" printed over. The right border is printed with abstract lines with the words "1 DOLLAR." over. At the center top is an image of a wood-clad factory complex consisting of two visible buildings with four cupola-style chimneys emitting smoke. The scene is flanked by two bush vignettes framed the number 1. Beneath the image is the inscription, "Cashier of the FAMERS BANK, Troy N.York. / For value received, pay S Strony or bearer ONE DOLLAR on demand, for acct. of the President & Directors of the VERMONT GLASS FACTORY.
