Description

A long and elaborate black net dress. There are two ribbons of embroidery that go down the length of the dress. It is cut in a princess line and is cut for a bustle in the back. It has a high net collar that unhooks at side and also has hooks down the down side of dress. There are tiny tucks down the long sleeves,which have heavily embroidered cuffs. The center panel of the skirt has the same style of tucks.

Worn by either Ruth Raymond Jones (1895-1982) or her mother Lena Elnora Levey Raymond (1873-1938) in Ludlow.
