Description

Cream-colored satin-woven silk bodice. The bodice laces up the center front and center back. It has a square neckline with a strap high around the neck. The neckline and the sleeve cuffs are decorated with lace and faux-pearls. The hem (waistline) is pointed at the front and back.

Worn by Anna S. Higgins at her marriage to George Briggs in Brandon, Vermont, in 1881.
