Description

Red silk satin corset. It is lined with light-brown glazed cotton. There are 9 stays, each of which is encased in a fabric casing and stitched to the interior of the corset along a seam. 4 are encased in black fabric, and 5 are in white. There are loosely bound eyelets along the center back opening.

Worn by either Ruth Raymond Jones (1895-1982) or her mother Lena Elnora Levey Raymond (1873-1938) in Ludlow, Vermont.
