Description

Blue silk dress with long, full skirt gathered to a fitted and bodice. The dress has long sleeves, constructed in two parts, with a seam above the elbow. The lower sleeves slightly flare before being gathered to a tight cuff. The top of the bodice has 4 wide pleats in a V-pattern, with the center front as a center point.

Context

Worn by Esther Indian Tubbs of Essex, VT. According to family history, the dress was given to her as a 21st birthday gift.
